Fall Ball Registration

The Fall Ball Rec. program is a great opportunity for players to develop their softball skills and IQ over the “off-season.” The fall season will run from early September to early November. We will participate in interleague play with other local USA South Bay leagues, which will be a great experience for our players. Practices will be held on weeknights at Alta Vista Park, and they will begin at 6pm or later due to AYSO’s priority over field space at Alta Vista during the fall. Games will be doubleheaders against other local leagues, either on Saturdays or on Sundays, and either at Alta Vista or traveling to other local leagues. Rec Teams will have the option to enter into the LA South Bay “Turkey Tournament” around Thanksgiving (at an additional cost of $50 per player). Divisions participating in Fall Ball are 8U-14U (No 6U division).

VOLUNTEERS/BACKGROUND CHECKS

Like everything we do at Sunset, Fall Ball relies heavily on adult volunteers. Everything in terms of background checks, SafeSport, etc. resets on September 1, so we all need to work quickly to get the background check stuff done as soon as possible after September 1 if you’ll be working with the players. FALL STARS

We will run a “Fall Stars” program this fall which will include several weekend tournaments in November and December. Tryouts for “Fall Stars” will be held over the weekend of August 24-25. We’ll form more than one team if possible, but in 2023 we had one team per division. Play ups will not be allowed for Fall Stars, even if your child is playing up for Rec Fall Ball. You’ll have the option to indicate your interest in Fall Stars when you sign up for Fall Ball. “Fall Stars” is only open to players who also participate in Fall Ball Rec and who are not playing travel ball. Fall Stars is a completely separate program from Fall Ball and will have additional fees to pay for uniforms and tournaments. More information can be found here.

EVALUATIONS

Evaluations for Fall Ball and Fall Stars will be held over the weekend of August 24-25. Exact schedule TBD and depends on field space not being used by AYSO.

FEES

Fall Ball registration fees cover the costs of uniforms, USA Softball player registration, adult background checks, umpires fees, clinics, and softballs. Early Bird will be $219 + $20 RBUSD fee, so sign up early! Regular Price will be $249 + $20 RBUSD fee. Fall Ball registration closes on August 15, after which time a waitlist will be formed and anyone added off the waitlist must pay $299 + $20 RBUSD.
